Lexter Deo D. Santos is a highly respected Filipino percussionist, educator, and arts administrator whose career spans orchestral performance, music education, and youth development. With over two decades of professional experience, he has become a central figure in the country’s classical and contemporary music landscape.
Lexter currently serves as Orchestra Manager and Faculty Manager of the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY) under Ang Misyon Inc., a role he has held since 2012. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping young musicians through mentorship, training, and organizational development. Alongside this, he is a long‑time Lecturer at the Centro Escolar University Conservatory of Music, where he has been teaching since 2006, and a Percussion Mentor for the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band.
As a performer, Lexter’s career includes serving as Principal Percussionist of the Manila Symphony Orchestra from 2005 to 2012, as well as guest appearances with the ABS‑CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, UP Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. His versatility has also led him to perform with major theatre companies such as Atlantis Productions and Repertory Philippines, contributing to numerous musical productions.
Lexter’s commitment to music education extends to various institutions, including St. Paul University Manila and the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music Extension Program, where he has mentored countless young musicians in percussion and ensemble performance.
A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music with a Music Teachers Diploma, Lexter combines artistry, leadership, and pedagogy in a career dedicated to elevating Philippine music and empowering the next generation of performers.
