Xavier Ernest John R. Celestial is a seasoned Filipino trumpeter whose dynamic musicianship and extensive performance career have made him a respected figure in both the classical and commercial music scenes. A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance, he has built a distinguished career spanning orchestral work, musical theatre, big band performance, and international touring.
Xavier currently serves as Lead Trumpet of the AMP Big Band, one of the country’s premier ensembles under Maestro Mel Villena. He has also performed with renowned groups such as Sabor Latino, Atoms Reborn, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas, Glass Onion, Trifecta, and the Richard Poon Band—showcasing his versatility across genres from jazz and Latin to pop and orchestral music.
His orchestral experience includes serving as Principal Trumpet of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra (2017–2020) and previously as Assistant Principal Trumpet. He was also a member of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier brass performer.
Xavier’s musical theatre credits span major productions such as Sweeney Todd (Singapore and Manila), Eto Na! Musikal nAPO, Kinky Boots, A Christmas Carol, La Cage Aux Folles, Sound of Music, and Sweet Charity. His international work includes long-term engagements as a musician aboard Princess Cruise Lines since 2013.
Beyond performance, Xavier has contributed to music education as a Music Instructor at the University of Santo Tomas for a decade and has served as a Military Science Instructor, reflecting his discipline, leadership, and commitment to service. His early achievements include winning 1st place in Squad Tactics at the NCR RAATI Competition and earning 2nd place at the 2004 NAMCYA Category B.
